GMHL EXPANDS TO THE U.S.
The GMHL is pleased to announce the expansion of the league to the United States for the first time, welcoming the Jr. A Jets from Jamestown, N.Y.
The Jets were recently purchased by Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Dennis Canfield from former majority owner, Barry Soskin. Mr. Canfield appreciates the experience in the Northern Junior Hockey League, and is thankful for the chance to work with Barry Soskin, but felt the GMHL provided some unique opportunities to raise the level of his team and their players, generate additional exposure, and provide their fans with a wider variety of opponents from north of the border.

Toronto to play 2 game exhibition in Rhode Island versus NCAA Division III programs.
The Toronto Canada Moose are pleased to announce the team will travel to Rhode Island this October to play a 2 game exhibition series vs NCAA Division III programs Johnson & Wales University and Nichols College.

NEWS AND NOTES FROM AROUND THE GMHL!
- GMHL owners met last week to devise this season's upcoming schedule, but the league will wait until early next week to release it after an inquiry from an existing club to join the league early this week, which the league is considering.
- The GMHL ownership group agreed to revisit the overage limit for this season. For the 2010-2011 season, teams are allowed to carry up to 10 players 20 or 21 years old, of which a maximum of 3 may be 21, of which 1 may be a 'Free Agent', a player who did not play the minimum of 5 games in the GMHL last season.» Read the Full Story

The Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League is pleased to announce it will support the efforts of the program called PLAY IT COOL, an injury prevention program of the Canadian Spinal Research Foundation's SHOOT FOR A CURE campaign.
Play It Cool™ is an injury prevention program of the Canadian Spinal Research Organization’s Shoot For A Cure campaign. This program aims to reduce the incidence of Neurotrauma (concussion and spinal) injuries in hockey.» Read the Full Story
